November 19 Our first western show.  Hotske was a good girl.  She did well in halter, and we had fun with walk/jog.  More shows comming soon!

Hotske has a cousin!  Meet Tieske, a 7 year old gelding from holland.  He arrived to Maui this summer.  Just the other day I had the special opportunity to ride him.  Hotske's bridle and soft saddle fit him great.  He is a very big mover and was so much fun to ride Photo by wendy.

Hotske quickly outgrew her dressage saddle, so I made a soft saddle out of saddle pads to ride in until I find her a new one that fits.  We did our second show in this saddle, and no one seemed to notice or comment that it looked funny.  It is made of saddle pads and has no tree.  It does have a knee roll, as you can see in the photo below.
